I have read Sons on Fathers, and I could find in almost every story incidents or circumstances that I could, as they say, relate to. Not only with my own father, but in the relationship I have with my two sons. However, in the latter case, the relationships are quite positive. Long ago, I made up my mind that history would not repeat itself.

Thank you for the collection Sons on Fathers. I picked it up because our son has turned 12, and the mysteries of that age have us all renaming our individual intent. Though I am the mother in this adventure, the collection in your book spoke loudly to the questions of family, so I felt welcome, anyway. My own father is dead, and it occurred to me as I read each selection that, though the focus was fathers and sons, we each recall the intricate struggle away from and back to our fathers -- no matter which gender. Thank you for a fine collection of writing. It's a gift.

I have not been able to put Sons on Fathers down. It opened up a wellspring of suppressed and unverbalized feeling. I have a difficult time telling anyone except the cat "I love you." ... And then when you get to my feelings about my father, the compounding of emotion, fear .... The book will help me sort out the relations with my own sons ... I'm a great believer in bibliotherapy, both for the authors and the readers. Your work has helped me a lot.
